Fear not! We did not set out on a mission to abolish the Student Debs committee!
Far from it - we need your help!
You will, of course, have the freedom to choose a Debs Committee within the L.C. group. Much of the committee’s work will be done at the early stages - good news for teachers, for parents and for students thinking about filling out the CAO, mock exams etc. (The year will fly by, trust us!)
Each year, most L.C. students are excited about organising the Debs night - seeming so far away in the distant future. They presume they have oodles of time to chose the ideal venue, transport, coolest entertainment - on top of shopping for dresses, organising hairstyles, make-up, fake tan, manicures, (ladies) or hiring tuxes, shoes, choosing flowers, chocolates, taxi/limo (guys).
As the year goes on, enthusiasm fades and often, the bulk of the work is left up to one or two committee members. Time runs out, studies suffer, reluctant teachers or parents have to take over, leaving committee members feeling frustrated and foolish.
Organising a Debs night for 100-200 people is an enormous undertaking for any 17 year old
and inexperience leads to disappointment when they realise that many of the most popular venues, DJs etc have long been pre-booked. Students are left with no other option but to travel half way round the country to a remote location nobody has ever heard of, shelling out cash to spend most of their Debs night sitting on a bus!
Disaster!
Avoid these problems with Debs planner!
Our goal is to take the hassle and stress away from students while simultaneously involving them in the details of the forthcoming event.
We provide:
- A top quality venue
- Comfortable transport to and from the chosen venue
- First class entertainment on the night provided by Ireland’s best DJs
- We will print all tickets and deliver them to your Debs committee before the end of school term for distribution, leaving the Debs committee members stress-free with much needed peace of mind at such an important time!
Committee’s role involves:
- Choosing the menu for the night
- Compiling and confirming numbers of interested students
- Collecting payments * Deciding on optional extras, etc
*The payments are usually split between an initial deposit and balance. We find that it is a good idea to collect deposits early so we can get a general number in order to choose the most suitable venue for you.
